Wuhhh! For the ones who don’t know where you can create a fork, see the screenshot below. This is GitHub but works also for any other git hosted platform, like Bitbucket or GitLab. Open your fork on GitHub. Click on Pull Requests. Click on New Pull Request. By default, GitHub will compare the original with your fork, and there shouldn't be anything to compare if you didn't make any changes.

You find the repository you want to fork, press the button, and blam! Done — you have your own fork of that project. A fork is a copy of a repository that you manage. Forks let you make changes to a project without affecting the original repository.
